TREATMENT UNIT FOR VARIOUS KINDS OF OILY SLUDGE AND GREASE

TREATMENT TECHNIQUES

Heavy hydrocarbon waste (bitumen, super heavy fuel oil etc.) and solid mineral grease:

The treatment is based on the controlled chemical reaction between quicklime and the waste to be treated. An exothermic reaction raises the temperature of the material for several hours. Hydrocarbons are being absorbed and adsorbed in the chalk.
The product becomes powdery, with small size particles and free of water. It can then be sold as a fuel (hydrocarbon) or as a raw material (chalk).

Other hydrocarbon waste (grease, paint, various types of sludge etc.):

The waste is mixed with various absorbents such as sawdust etc. to produce a powdery material with high calorific value. It is mainly sold as a substitution fuel.
Crushing unit: This unit totally crushes the drums, pallets etc. contaminated with hydrocarbon sludge and grease. The crushing permits good mixing with the absorbents.
Unit for post-treatment by screening: This is used to achieve the desired particle size, which makes the end product easier to sell.

PREPARATION OF SOLID SUBSTITUTION FUEL

WOS produces a secondary raw material that can be used as a substitution fuel in installations that burn solid fuel. This material is produced from:
• oily sludge

• mineral grease

• bitumen, asphalt or pitch

• solidified super-heavy fuel oil

• refinery tank scrapings

• ship bunker scrapings

• centrifuge or filter sludge

• paint, paint sludge or solvent sludge

• soil polluted by hydrocarbons
