WOS / Processes / Polluted water

TYPES OF POLLUTED WATER

• oily emulsions

• bituminous emulsions

• cleaning water from oil industry storage tanks

• industrial process water

• cleaning water from the holds of ships

• water from de-sludgers/de-oilers

• water polluted by all types of hydrocarbons

TREATMENT OF WATER POLLUTED BY HYDROCARBONS

• water polluted by all types of hydrocarbons (fuel oil, oil, gas oil, petrol, solvents etc.)

• from all sources (manufacturing, oil industry, garages, aviation, port activities etc.)

The hydrocarbons recovered and the sludge produced are sent either to the unit in Hautrage or to the one in Genk. .

PROFESSIONAL TREATMENT

Physico-chemistry covers a large number of complex physical and chemical operations (adsorption, coagulation, flocculation, oxidation or reduction, precipitation etc.).

ECOLOGICAL TREATMENT

The treatment technique involves minimal consumption of reagents, following the “waste-to-waste” principle (using one type of waste to treat another). This reduces the amount of final residue produced, and helps to conserve durable materials.
The liquid hydrocarbons recovered after this treatment are sent to the waste oil regeneration, while the resulting sludge is sent to the hydrocarbon sludge treatment unit for making solid substitution fuels.
